Recognising innovative capacity through practical, real-world solutions, Fatema Tuz Zohra Moon and Hasibur Rahman Alif from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) emerged champions at the AppQuest AppLink Hackathon 2025, winning a cash prize of BDT 50,000. Organised by digital operator Banglalink to empower young developers and encourage the creation of meaningful mobile applications, the competition awarded BDT 20,000 to the first runners-up and BDT 10,000 to the second runners-up.

The prizes were handed over at the grand finale of the hackathon, held at Banglalink’s headquarters, Tiger’s Den, in Gulshan, Dhaka.

On Sunday, January 18, Banglalink said the event—organised recently in collaboration with HSenid Mobile Solutions Limited—saw participation from more than 30 teams representing universities across the country. Competing teams showcased their creativity and technical expertise by presenting diverse solutions to real-life problems. A panel of experienced judges conducted a rigorous evaluation process to select the winning teams, with a total prize pool of BDT 80,000 awarded to the top three teams.

According to the organisers, the hackathon served as a platform for students to develop digital solutions to real-world challenges through technology. Through AppLink, Banglalink connects local developers with hundreds of thousands of customers nationwide. Centred on Banglalink’s digital marketplace AppLink, the hackathon aimed to promote digital services by enabling developers to generate income through mobile-based services, while allowing customers easy access to new and innovative applications.

The hackathon was jointly organised by Banglalink and HSenid Mobile Solutions to unlock the technical skills and potential of young innovators. The judging panel comprised leading sector experts, including Asad Mohammad Akbar, Co-founder and Director of Worker; Muhammad Saidul Alam, Co-founder and COO of Biniyog.io; Kazi Sharequzzaman, Head of Business Development at HSenid Mobile Solutions; Faisal Ahmed, Director of Digital Platforms and Engineering at Banglalink Digital Communications; and Foyez Ahmed, Head of Digital Revenues at Banglalink Digital Communications.

Their perspective, innovative capacity, practical thinking, and enthusiasm for creating meaningful digital solutions are truly commendable.”

Kazi Sharequzzaman, Head of Business Development at HSenid Mobile Solutions, said, “AppLink prioritises local talent and innovative consumer services. The AppQuest Hackathon has played an important role as a platform for young talents to present innovative solutions to address social challenges.”
