Mbappé Uses AI-Powered Meta Vanguard Smart Glasses to Elevate His Game

Cutting-edge technology is increasingly making its mark on modern football. It’s not just fashion—French star Kylian Mbappé is using AI-enhanced Meta Vanguard Smart Glasses to improve his professional performance. While training, the Real Madrid superstar wears the glasses to record every moment—running, dribbling, or shooting—and receives instant analysis. Not even the smallest detail of his performance escapes review.

Developed jointly by Meta and Oakley, the Vanguard glasses feature Oakley’s Prizm lenses, giving Mbappé crystal-clear on-field visibility. The glasses include a 12-megapixel hands-free camera capable of capturing 3K-resolution video, along with an open-ear speaker system.

When connected to performance platforms like Garmin or Strava, the glasses display instant metrics, including speed, angles, rhythm, and footwork data.

Speaking to BroBible about the AI glasses, Mbappé said, “As a competitive athlete, I’m always looking for something that gives me an edge. What Meta and Oakley have created is incredible—it pushes the boundaries of technology and training to a new level.”

He added, “The key is improvement without losing focus on the game. This technology maintains that balance.”

France sealed qualification for the 2026 World Cup with a 4–0 win over Ukraine, where Mbappé scored twice. This marked his sixth consecutive international match with a goal—bringing him close to French legend Jean-Pierre Papin’s record of scoring in seven straight matches.

But their schedule hasn’t slowed. Within 12 hours of the Ukraine match, the team traveled to Azerbaijan. Mbappé, Camavinga, and another star did not join the trip due to injuries.

Still, Mbappé’s performance against Ukraine was historic. He said, “This is the most talented French team I’ve ever seen. Our potential is limitless. We’re not yet at the level of the 2018 or 2022 teams, but we’re 100% capable of getting there.”
