According to university sources, the disciplinary actions follow a final investigation report by a committee formed after complaints were lodged by general students on August 17 of last year regarding retaliatory activities by the banned student organization. On August 26 this year, the university’s 47th Discipline Board meeting recommended the expulsions. Following the 250th meeting of the Regent Board on August 27, four students were permanently expelled, one suspended for five semesters, seven for four semesters, and seven for three semesters.
Considering the gravity of their offenses, four students received permanent expulsion, while the remaining 15 were sanctioned according to the severity of their violations. Until the completion of their expulsion orders, all are barred from entering the university campus.
Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Imam Hossain said, “In accordance with the recommendations of the regulatory investigation committee and approval from higher authorities, 19 leaders of the banned student league have been expelled.”
