Computational Intelligence Conference Convenes at JUST

A national conference on Artificial Intelligence, conversational AI robots, computational intelligence, and their applications was held at Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) under the title “Computational Intelligence and Applications.” The event took place on Saturday, 21 June, at the university’s Central Gallery, jointly organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and the Improving Computer and Software Engineering Tertiary Education Project (ICSETEP).

The conference’s chief guest, JUST Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid, underscored the transformative power of artificial intelligence. “The future world will be driven by artificial intelligence. The country that advances in robotics and AI research will lead the world,” he stated. Expressing optimism, he said, “Our students will acquire knowledge from this conference and build expertise through research. They will shape themselves as skilled professionals and eventually lead the world in computational intelligence.”

Addressing students directly, he added, “You must nurture your dreams, aspirations, and willpower. Alongside acquiring knowledge, you must enhance your communication skills. Only then will you be able to contribute to the advancement of this country and nation.”

Professor Dr. Md. Haider Ali, Vice Chancellor of Comilla University, delivered the keynote address. Guest speakers included Dr. Md. Mosaddeq Khan, Associate Professor in the Department of CSE at the University of Dhaka. Joining virtually were Dr. Md. Arafatur Rahman, Reader in Cybersecurity at the University of Wolverhampton, UK; Dr. Oulsim Inoubil, Associate Professor at the University of Artois, France; and Dr. Bishnu Sarkar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science at Meharry Medical College, USA. They shed light on global trends in computational intelligence and shared research-based insights on career development for students.
