JUST Observes Independence Day with Tributes and Commemorative Events

Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) celebrated Independence and National Day 2025 with various programs, including a collective rendition of the national anthem, the laying of floral wreaths at the Victory Monument in Jashore city, and prayers for the martyrs.

Following the Zuhr prayer, a special prayer and supplication were held at the university’s central mosque, seeking peace, prosperity, and the eternal mercy of the Almighty for the souls of those who sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War. Additionally, the university campus, including the main roads and buildings, was decorated with festive illuminations to mark the occasion.

The celebrations were attended by Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Proctor Professor Dr. S. M. Nur Alam, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Science and Technology Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Science Dr. Md. Korban Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Professor Dr. Md. Ziaul Amin, Registrar Engineer Md. Ahsan Habib, Director of the Student Counseling and Guidance Office Dr. Md. Rafiul Hasan, along with department heads, faculty members, students, officials, and staff members.

As part of the celebrations, a series of sports competitions have been scheduled for April 16 and 19 at the university’s central sports ground. These events include cricket matches between residential and non-residential students, faculty versus administrative staff, and staff versus staff. Additionally, a basketball shooting contest for female faculty members, officers, and staff will also take place.
