Civil Engineering Clinches Victory in CUET Inter-Department Cricket Final
The Civil Engineering Department of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) emerged as the champion in the Inter-Department Cricket (CPL) 2025 by defeating the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE) Department by 50 runs in the tournament’s final.
Batting first, the Civil Engineering Department posted a total of 165 runs for 3 wickets. In response, the ETE Department managed to score 115 runs for 8 wickets, falling short of the 166-run target, thereby securing victory for the Civil Engineering Department.
Hasib Hossain of the Civil Engineering Department was named the Player of the Tournament, while Ibne Jubair from the MIE Department emerged as the highest run-scorer with 241 runs, and Mehedi Hasan from the Mechanical Engineering Department took the most wickets (7) in the competition.
The Inter-Department Cricket (CPL) 2025 final, along with the Inter-Hall Indoor Games 2024, was organized by CUET’s Physical Education Center. The awards were presented by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan at the university’s central playground on Friday.
Among the distinguished attendees were Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, and Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubul Alam, Director of the Student Welfare Office, who presided over the event.
The program was conducted by Deputy Chief Physical Education Officer Mohammad Jasim Uddin.
