Facebook Restricts Reach of Islamic Scholar Azhari’s Page, Issues Final Warning
Popular Islamic scholar Maulana Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari has reported that his verified Facebook page has once again faced restrictions, resulting in a significant drop in reach. Additionally, he stated that Facebook has issued a final warning, cautioning that any further violations could lead to the loss of his page.
On Tuesday, January 28, Azhari shared the update via a post on his verified Facebook page. He wrote:
“After overcoming multiple restrictions on Facebook, I have now been subjected to another restriction due to a post from six months ago. Previously, I faced restrictions for expressing strong positions on issues such as the suffering of oppressed people.”
He further stated:
“Manipulating language and words to bypass artificial intelligence detection is no longer easy. Every restriction increases the risk of losing this major platform for da’wah. This time, Facebook has issued a final warning, stating that if there is another violation, we will lose access to the page.”
Addressing his followers, Azhari acknowledged their expectations for him to speak on ongoing issues and take firm stances. However, he emphasized his limitations, explaining:
“Today’s post is to clarify that we have many constraints. There are sensitive topics we cannot freely discuss or write about. I had several updates to share regarding ‘Project Alpha.’ However, with the current decline in post reach, I am uncertain how much of the project updates will reach you. We provide regular updates every Friday after Jumu’ah prayers, so I encourage everyone to check them manually.”
