Google fined in Russia

Google was again fined in Russia. This time, however, a Russian court fined the search engine three million rubles or $41,000 for violating the rules for storing users' personal information. Google was fined on Thursday. However, Google confirmed the fine but did not agree to comment. Earlier, Google was fined in Russia for not deleting banned content. Google has been at loggerheads with the country's government over the blocking of pro-Kremlin figures and the YouTube accounts of several media outlets. The sentence comes amid a long-running dispute with Google. Earlier, social media was fined at various times for violating the law in the country. The country's communications regulator, Roscommonazar, said last month that search engine Google, a technology company affiliated with Alphabet Inc., could be fined six million rubles. In Russia, Google users will be fined for not storing personal information in a database within Russian territory.
