BNPMC Science Carnival Concludes
Bangladesh must reach the level of technological innovation: Education Minister
- Students must develop scientific mindsets to innovate and use technology.
- Revised curriculum textbooks are planned for introduction from 2028.
- One Teacher, One Tab and multimedia classrooms are also planned
Bangladesh must integrate modern science and technology into education to reach the level of developed countries in technological innovation and adoption, Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has said. He stressed the need to develop a scientific mindset among students and equip them with the ability to think innovatively and address real-world challenges.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the “BNPMC National Science Carnival 2026” at Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College in the capital on Saturday, October 31.
The minister said the current prime minister had allocated the highest-ever budget for the education sector. The government would introduce new textbooks based on a revised curriculum from 2028.
He also said four new books titled “Learning with Happiness”, “My Technical Education”, “Sports” and “Bangladesh’s Culture” would be introduced for students in the 2027 academic year.
The minister further outlined plans for a “One Teacher, One Tab” initiative and multimedia classrooms. A digital system is also being introduced to monitor classroom teaching more effectively, he added.
Praising the students’ science projects, Dr Milon said he was pleased to see their ideas addressing important issues such as health protection and restoring rivers to a living state.
He said these projects could be implemented if Bangladesh developed stronger industry-academia collaboration, similar to that in developed countries.
Addressing HSC and equivalent examination candidates, the minister said students who had not achieved satisfactory results still had opportunities to improve. Failing an examination did not mean falling out of the race, he said, urging them to make further efforts with renewed determination to achieve better results in the future.
Before the closing ceremony, the minister visited around 12 exhibition stalls featuring projects from different participating institutions. He later distributed prizes among the winners.
BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman, college principal Lieutenant Colonel Md Tajul Islam, teachers and students were present at the event.
