Over 12,000 students register for nationwide Junior Science Olympiad 2026
12th BDJSO Online Selection Begins

The online preliminary round of the 12th Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad (BDJSO 2026) is set to take place nationwide on Saturday, August 22, starting at 7:00 PM. The initiative aims to select the Bangladesh national team for the upcoming 23rd International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO 2026) in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Nearly 12,000 students from all 64 districts representing Bangla, English, and Madrasa mediums have registered for the competition. Participants will solve problems spanning Physics, Chemistry, and Biology across three categories: Primary (Class 3–5), Junior (Class 6–8), and Secondary (Class 9–SSC).
Top performers from the preliminary stage will advance to the BDJSO National Round on Friday, August 28, at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) in Dhaka. Around 500 selected students will attend the day-long event featuring written exams, scientific sessions, and awards.
Based on the national round, a select group will join the BDJSO National Camp. Final team members representing Bangladesh at the 23rd IJSO in Bulgaria this December will be chosen based on academic merit and team coordination.
The event is jointly organized by the Society for the Popularization of Science, Bangladesh (SPSB) and Bangladesh Freedom Foundation, with support from MathLab, Rokomari, IUBAT, and ACI Adomya Medhabi.
