Nagad, Community Bank Sign Strategic Partnership

Postal Department's mobile financial service Nagad has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Community Bank Bangladesh PLC to deliver accelerated, seamless digital financial services. The agreement was formally executed on Thursday (August 20, 2026) at Community Bank’s head office in Police Plaza Concord, Gulshan-1, Dhaka. The collaboration expands digital remittance flows, fund transfers, and mutual operational scale.

Nagad Administrator (appointed by Bangladesh Bank) Md. Motasim Billah and Community Bank Managing Director Mohammad Imtiaz Uddin signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Under the agreement, inbound remittances processed via Community Bank will instantly reach beneficiaries across marginalized areas using Nagad's network. The integration optimizes API systems and user onboarding workflows, building upon Nagad's recent integration of Bangla QR for cashless transactions.

Nagad Administrator Md. Motasim Billah stated that digital transactions significantly lower high operational costs associated with conventional brick-and-mortar banking, aligning with Nagad's strategic goals.

Community Bank Managing Director Mohammad Imtiaz Uddin affirmed that both institutions aim to co-develop innovative digital products, including nano loans and micro-DPS solutions.

Ehsanul Hoque Bashar, Head of Bank and FI Ishtiaque Ahmed Shaon, Senior Manager Shah Imran, and Senior Manager Paik Ikbal Hossain.
