Former Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and presidential candidate Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir shared an emotional farewell message on social media. The post was published on his verified Facebook page late Wednesday night (August 19).
In his Facebook post, Mirza Fakhrul wrote that the time had arrived for his final departure, signing off with a final party salutation to party supporters and well-wishers as their trusted representative.
Earlier on Wednesday, Fakhrul delivered his farewell address during a BNP parliamentary party meeting held at the government party meeting room in the National Parliament. Attending lawmakers noted that he was visibly moved to tears while recalling the contributions of late BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and late President Ziaur Rahman.
