NSTU Journalists Protest Harassment On-Campus
• Campus reporters protest assaults faced during news gathering.

Campus correspondents at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) staged a demonstration and submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor protesting attacks and harassment faced while covering field reports. The protest took place on Wednesday (August 19) at the central Shaheed Minar premises on the university campus.
Moderated by Asia Post university correspondent Toufiq Al Mahmud, journalists condemned the recent assault on Kaler Kantho representative Sadman Rakin, Manabzamin representative Mahi Siddiqui Siam, and Protidinersangbad representative Mehedi Hasan by rogue Chhatra Dal activists. Following the demonstration, 33 campus reporters submitted a formal memorandum to Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Golam Robbani.
NSTU Journalist Association President and Amar Desh correspondent Nahidul Islam stated that administrative and political inaction following attacks on reporters escalated campus tensions, calling it an organizational failure and urging immediate disciplinary action.
NSTU Press Club President and Kaler Kantho correspondent Sadman Rakin highlighted the alarming nature of attacks during news gathering and video recording. He noted that comprehensive evidence had been submitted to the administration for prompt legal and institutional action.
Other speakers included Barta Bazar correspondent Fahad Hossain, Naya Diganta correspondent Sajid Khan, Bhorer Bani correspondent Naimur Rahman, Channel 24 correspondent Kawsar Ahmed, and Mukto Kolom correspondent Faiza Afroz Promi.
