JUST Signs MoU with 5 Industrial Concerns; 52 More Partnerships in the Pipeline
Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with five leading industrial enterprises through its Nanomaterials and Environmental Materials (NEM) Lab. Speaking as the chief guest at the 'Industry-Academia Mutual Cooperation' seminar on Wednesday, August 5, UGC Member Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun highlighted the initiative as crucial for enhancing academic quality and graduate employability.
To elevate educational quality, expand applied research, and create a job-ready skilled workforce, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with five premier industrial and commercial entities. The signing ceremony took place during a seminar titled 'Industry-Academia Mutual Cooperation' held on campus today (Wednesday, August 5).
The MoUs were executed by JUST Registrar Kazi Md. Jalal Uddin on behalf of the university's Nanomaterials and Environmental Materials (NEM) Lab, alongside top executives from the partner organizations. The partnering entities include Fairmate Chemical Ltd., Rakhi Cosmetics & Consumer Products, Luminous Group Ltd., Northern Agro Service Ltd., and the Green Biotech Tissue Culture Lab of RRF. Prof. Dr. Md. Javed Hossain Khan, Director of NEM Lab, revealed that agreements with 52 additional industrial partners will be finalized shortly.
Gracing the occasion as chief guest, University Grants Commission (UGC) Member Professor Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun stated, "Establishing effective collaboration between the industrial sector and universities is a top priority of the government. Such partnerships bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical applications, preparing students for real-world market demands." He also mentioned government plans to establish 'AI Cities' in divisional headquarters and 'Sports Villages' at the district level.
Chaired by JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Yaearul Kabir, the seminar was attended by Pro-VC Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan, Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Faruq Hasan, Jashore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Md. Mizanur Rahman, alongside faculty deans and corporate leaders. Following the seminar, guests participated in a campus tree plantation drive aimed at environmental conservation.
