Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), has issued a strict directive requesting all journalist organizations on campus to refrain from using his name as an adviser.

The announcement came via a formal press statement issued to journalists on Wednesday (July 29).

In the statement, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafiqul Islam clarified his position: "Personally, I do not wish to be associated with any journalist organization at NSTU as an adviser at this moment. Therefore, starting today, I request all journalist groups at NSTU to stop using my name in that capacity."

Unapproved Group Exploiting Official Title
Investigative inquiries revealed that an unapproved group at NSTU had recently been masquerading as a campus media association without obtaining legitimate approval from the university administration. To gain influence, the entity had been presenting the Pro-VC as their official adviser.

Upon noticing the unauthorized use of his designation, the Pro-VC promptly addressed the issue. He stated, "I have informed everyone concerned about this matter. I strongly urge everyone not to carry out any activities using my name."

Vice-Chancellor Confirms Resignation
Addressing the issue, NSTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Golam Robbani confirmed, "He (the Pro-VC) informed me last night that he has stepped down as an adviser from the organization in question."

The Pro-VC's decisive stance is expected to curb unauthorized groups from using high-ranking administrative titles for influence at the university.
