Promotion approved by the Prime Minister; appointments effective from June 30 under the National Pay Scale 2015
Eight officials of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) have been promoted to the post of Additional Chief Engineer (Grade-3), according to a notification issued on Thursday (July 2, 2026) by the Local Government Division under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.
The notification states that the promotions were made following the recommendations of the Superior Selection Board (SSB), the approval of the Prime Minister, and a directive issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on June 30, 2026. The officials have been placed in Grade-3 of the National Pay Scale 2015, with a salary range of BDT 56,500–74,400. The promotions have been made in the public interest and are effective from June 30, 2026.

The notification directs the promoted officials to submit their joining reports to the Chief Engineer of LGED. It was signed, by order of the President, by A.B.M. Ariful Islam, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Local Government Division.
Following the announcement, the promoted officials exchanged greetings with flowers with A.B.M. Ariful Islam. They later paid a courtesy call on Local Government Division Secretary Md. Shahidul Hasan and extended floral greetings.
