Bangladesh Railway Keeps Selling Advance Eid Tickets Amid High Demand

Bangladesh Railway has commenced the advance sale of intercity train tickets under a special arrangement for Eid-ul-Fitr. On the final day of this special ticketing system, Thursday (March 20), tickets for March 30 were made available for purchase. Within the first 30 minutes, the Bangladesh Railway e-ticketing website and mobile app recorded a staggering 3.7 million hits from eager ticket seekers. During this period, 21,574 tickets were sold across the country, including 9,960 tickets for intercity trains departing from Dhaka towards the western region.

According to Bangladesh Railway sources, ticket sales for trains operating in the western zone began at 8:00 AM. Within the first half-hour, a total of 11,614 tickets for western zone trains were sold nationwide.

For March 30, the total number of seats available for intercity trains departing from Dhaka to both the eastern and western regions stands at 32,115, while the total number of seats across all trains throughout the country amounts to 163,959.
