Colors, Culture and Connection at BAU Fest

Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) successfully concluded its three-day hall festival ‘Crimson Heist’, organized by the 58th batch of Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy Hall.

Held from June 18 to 20, the event transformed the hall premises into a vibrant gathering space with participation from current and former students.

Following tradition, the youngest batch of the hall organized the annual festival. According to organizers, the objective was to strengthen bonds among students, promote fraternity and create opportunities for recreation alongside academic life.

The opening day featured a colorful rally centered around a horse carriage. The procession started from the hall, passed through the KR Market area and returned to the venue. Students and senior batches participated actively before joining informal cultural activities.

On the second day, a friendly football match was held where the 58th batch secured a 2–1 victory against a combined team from other batches. Later, two flash mob performances were arranged at the university helipad and KR Market area, inspired by the ongoing football World Cup atmosphere. The choreography was designed by student Ahil Shihab.

The formal inauguration took place Friday evening with a cake-cutting ceremony attended by hall provost Professor Dr. Md. Bazlur Rahman Molla, university proctor Md. Abdul Alim and registrar Agriculturist Dr. Helal Uddin, among others. The evening continued with a grand dinner and cultural performances.

The final day included a color festival at the convocation square followed by a pool party at the hall swimming pool. An open tea stall later welcomed guests and students.

A special grand dinner hosted by senior students honored the 58th batch before the event concluded with a raffle draw and cultural performances.

Senior student and BAU Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Mezbaul Haque Mizu said the hall festival tradition helps strengthen student relationships, preserve cultural values and create a positive campus environment.

Participants described the event as a memorable experience that fostered stronger connections and a greater sense of community among students.
