Avery Dennison Launches Smart Warehouse

Avery Dennison has launched an automated smart warehouse at the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) in Savar, introducing a digital system for receiving, storing, bagging and delivering products. The 830-square-metre facility can store around 25,000 cartons at a time and is designed to make warehouse and supply-chain operations faster and more data-driven.

The company said the use of technology has increased product processing speed by 72%. Compared with the previous system, the facility can receive five times more products, dispatch products twice as fast and store 50% more products.

The information was disclosed in a press release on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The smart warehouse is part of Avery Dennison’s global “Manufacturing 4.0” initiative.

The facility is designed to support garment and footwear manufacturers with faster and more reliable product management and supply-chain services. Digital processes will provide faster access to inventory information while integrating packing, storage and order fulfilment.

Avery Dennison officials said demand is growing for faster customer delivery, customised product requirements and greater supply-chain transparency. The smart warehouse will integrate inventory management, packing, storage and dispatch, enabling faster and more demand-driven services.

Avery Dennison’s apparel solutions include Amblex, Optica, RFID and other digital identification technologies. These technologies can support inventory management, product-location identification and end-to-end tracking of products from manufacturing and distribution to retail.

The company said the smart warehouse will also help garment and footwear factories reduce delays in product collection and minimise supply-chain management errors.

The facility was inaugurated on Monday, September 14, by US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh President Syed Mohammad Kamal and senior Avery Dennison officials.

Ambassador Brent T. Christensen said the investment would further strengthen commercial ties between the two countries through US business, technology and innovation.

BEZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain said Avery Dennison has been working with BEPZA since 2003. He said the company’s investment has also brought modern technology, knowledge and production methods to Bangladesh, strengthening industrial capacity and local workforce skills. Such investments, he added, would play an important role in improving Bangladesh’s global competitiveness.

BEPZA Member (Investment Development) Md. Tanvir Hossain, DEPZ Executive Director Mohammad Abdul Jabbar, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan and AmCham President Syed Mohammad Kamal attended the inauguration.

US-owned Paxar Bangladesh has been operating at the Dhaka EPZ since 2003. The company has invested around US$81 million to date and created employment for approximately 1,500 people.
