Land Minister Barrister Mir Helal highlights tech transformations at BPO Summit
Automation to Eradicate Middlemen and Corruption from Government Services
Speaking as the chief guest at the BPO Summit 2026 in Chattogram, Land Minister Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin stressed digital automation to ensure transparency.
State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, stated that modern information technology and timely digital automation can completely eliminate corruption and middlemen from public services.
He made these remarks on Saturday (June 20) while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the "BPO Summit 2026" as the chief guest at the Khulshi Convention Hall in Chattogram. Organized by the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO), this year's summit centered on the theme "Where Talent Meets Global Opportunity."
The Minister emphasized aligning policy-making with grassroots needs and youth sentiment in collaboration with the private sector to ensure sustainable IT growth.
Highlighting the digitization of the land ministry, Barrister Mir Helal mentioned that top land services have been shifted online. Citizens can now pay land taxes and file mutation applications or complaints from home via the 'BHUMI' app. For those unfamiliar with digital systems, 893 digital service centers have been set up nationwide to provide low-cost access. Furthermore, to ensure institutional accountability, the ministry has launched a pilot program for an app called "Bhumi Drishti" utilizing Geo-fencing technology.
This system triggers a red alert on the central dashboard if any local official leaves their workplace during office hours. The event was also attended by ICT Division Deputy Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun, BACCO President Tanveer Ibrahim, and General Secretary Foysal Alim.
