International Training on Toyota Production System Begins in Bangladesh
A two-day international training programme on the Toyota Production System has started in Bangladesh to support productivity growth, reduce operational waste and expand modern management practices across industries.
A two-day international training programme on the Toyota Production System (TPS) has begun in Bangladesh with the goal of improving industrial productivity, reducing operational waste and strengthening management practices.
The programme was inaugurated on Friday at HPL Blue Ocean Hall in Nasir Trade Centre, Banglamotor, Dhaka. The initiative is being organised with support from Japan’s WNF.
The opening session was inaugurated by A.M.M. Khairul Bashar, former president and founding member of Bangladesh AOTS Alumni Society (BAAS) and adviser to the Bangladesh–Japan Training Institute (BJTI).
Speaking at the event, he said improving production management capabilities has become increasingly important for industrial competitiveness, and TPS remains a globally recognised framework for productivity enhancement and quality improvement.
The training is being conducted by Sri Lankan industrial management specialist C. B. Konishka Perera. Sessions include lean production concepts, continuous improvement practices, workplace organisation, just-in-time production, waste reduction, quality control and operational efficiency.
According to organisers, the programme combines practical exercises with industry examples to help participants apply lessons directly within their organisations.
A total of 42 representatives from different industries are participating, including organisations from apparel, textile, manufacturing, engineering and service sectors.
Senior BAAS members ANM Shahjahan, Syed Ahsanul Apon, Soumitra K. Mutsuddi and Secretary General Sheikh Nizam Uddin Ahmed were also present.
