Opta Supercomputer Backs Brazil Heavily Against Haiti in World Cup Clash
Brazil enter their second FIFA World Cup 2026 group-stage match against Haiti as overwhelming favourites, according to Opta’s supercomputer projections.
Brazil heads into its second FIFA World Cup 2026 group-stage match under pressure after opening the tournament with a 1–1 draw against Morocco. But statistical projections continue to place the five-time champions among the strongest contenders.
According to Opta’s supercomputer, Brazil has an 87.3 percent probability of defeating Haiti. Haiti’s win probability stands at 4.3 percent, while the chance of a draw is estimated at 8.4 percent.
Despite dropping points in the opening game, Brazil remains in a strong position to qualify. Opta projects a 52 percent chance of topping Group C and a 90.3 percent probability of reaching the Round of 32. Their title-winning probability is estimated at 5.4 percent.
For Haiti, the situation is more difficult after a 1–0 loss to Scotland in their opener. Their probability of progressing to the knockout stage is now estimated at 5.8 percent, while the chance of winning the group stands at 0.4 percent.
Historical records also favour Brazil. The two sides have met three times previously, with Brazil winning all three encounters. Their most recent meeting came in the 2016 Copa América, where Brazil secured a 7–1 victory.
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti said the team remains calm despite the slow start and expects improvement in the second group-stage match.
