Int'l Tech Conference Begins at PUST
A two-day international conference titled 'International Conference on Power, Electronics, Communications, Computing and Intelligence Infrastructure-2026' commenced on June 17, Wednesday at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST). Researchers, scientists, industry experts, teachers, and students from various countries, including Bangladesh, are participating in the event.
The seminar focuses on contemporary topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Power and Energy Systems, Communication Technology, and Smart Infrastructure.
On the first day, Professor Dr. Jungpil Shin from the University of Aizu, Japan, presented the keynote paper, and over a hundred researchers presented 180 papers. A total of 308 research papers will be presented across 39 sessions over the two days.
Attending the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, Professor Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, stated, "The government has increased the education budget by 56% to build a skilled workforce. Smart cities are being developed to create income sources for students alongside their studies, and allocations have been made for the creative economy for the first time." He added that such conferences would bridge the gap between local students and global researchers.
PUST Vice-Chancellor and Chief Patron of the conference, Professor Dr. Abul Hasnat Md. Shamim, emphasized that the university's responsibility is not only to educate but also to solve social barriers, promising full administrative support to build a robust research culture. Presided over by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, the event was also addressed by Pro-VC Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Ahsan, BUET Professors Dr. Sheikh Anisul Fattah, Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Dr. Md. Imamul Hasan Bhuiyan, and Conference Convener Professor Dr. Md. Nazmul Hossain.
The conference concludes onThursday, with presentations from another hundred local and foreign experts.
