College student Rizyan Rashid’s self-developed go-kart (racing car) was inspected by Tarique Rahman. During the visit, he personally drove the go-kart to encourage the student’s innovation.
On Saturday, 25 April, at noon, the Prime Minister drove the go-kart at the Tejgaon office premises in the capital.
The information was confirmed by Deputy Press Secretary-1 to the Prime Minister Jahidul Islam Roni.
Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman said, “The Honorable Prime Minister inspected the go-kart built by Rizyan Rashid. At one point, he personally drove the car to encourage such innovative work. Later, to further inspire interest and motivation in innovation, he drove the go-kart himself and encouraged the student to move forward with more innovative work in the future.
“He praised the young man for building a go-kart (racing car) using local technology and assured support for developing more advanced versions in the future.”
During the inspection of the go-kart, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman spoke with college student Rizyan Rashid. During the meeting, Rashid shared the story behind building the go-kart. He said his father is a diploma engineer and currently works in the Mechanical Department of the Ministry of Education. Inspired by his father, he began building the go-kart.
Rashid said he drove the go-kart from Mohammadpur to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Recently, the matter of the go-kart construction went viral on social media, which came to the Prime Minister’s attention. Following this, Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman was assigned to investigate the matter.
