THE Asia Rankings 2026: JUST Tops Bangladesh’s Science & Tech Universities

Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has achieved the honor of being ranked as the best science and technology university in Bangladesh in the “Asia University Rankings 2026” published by the UK-based education journal Times Higher Education (THE). The information was released on 23 April on THE’s official website.

In the Asia rankings, four universities from Bangladesh are placed within the 401–500 band. Among them, only JUST represents the science and technology university category. The other universities in this band are Bangladesh Agricultural University, Gazipur Agricultural University, and Jahangirnagar University.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), University of Dhaka, North South University, and Daffodil International University jointly occupy the top position among Bangladeshi universities in the 301–350 band.

In total, 28 public and private universities from Bangladesh have been included in THE’s “Best Universities in Asia 2026” list. Among them, JUST is jointly placed in the fifth position nationally.

Regarding the ranking, Vice-Chancellor of JUST Professor Dr. Yarul Kabir said, “I extend heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all teachers, researchers, students, officers, and staff of JUST for achieving a prestigious position in the Times Higher Education rankings. I hope this honorable trend will continue in the future.” He further added that their main goal is not only to increase research and publications but also to promote impactful research that contributes to national development and helps address any crisis.

Times Higher Education rankings are based on key performance indicators such as teaching quality, research environment, research output, industry engagement, and international outlook.
