Freedom Fighters Inspire Diploma Engineers to Lead National Development
Freedom fighters remain a source of inspiration for diploma engineers. Just as the declaration of independent Bangladesh on 26 March 1971 under the leadership of martyred President Ziaur Rahman energized people across the country, hundreds of thousands of diploma engineers have, over the years, embraced the slogan “Bangladesh First” and have been contributing to all sectors of national development. The Great Liberation War and its martyrs continue to serve as a guiding force in both the professional and intellectual pursuits of diploma engineers.
Diploma engineering leaders made these remarks on Thursday, 26 March, while laying wreaths at the National Memorial in honor of the martyrs of the Great Liberation War.
The leaders stated that diploma engineers do not seek discrimination in independent Bangladesh. They warned that demands for special privileges for degree-holding engineers would create inequality in the country. Instead, they emphasized that creating equal opportunities for all engineers would ensure a better and safer working environment.
They further noted that Bangladesh is advancing at a remarkable pace under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Diploma engineers are working as the vanguards in building a “Bangladesh First” nation. Upholding the spirit of the Liberation War, they remain committed to building a self-reliant Bangladesh.

Kazi Sakhawat Hossain; Joint Conveners Md. Mirza Mizanur Rahman and Md. Abedur Rahman; Member (Finance) Md. Moniruzzaman; Member (Office) Md. Mir Hossain Patowari; Member (Service and Legal) Md. Bacchu Mia; Member (Assistant Training and Research Affairs) Md. Alamgir Hossain; Executive Members Hossain Sakhawat and S M Kalam Hossain Parvez Mosharraf Radhi, along with other leaders of the central and Dhaka district committees.
