BYD Launches Mechanic Training to Boost Bangladesh’s EV Momentum
BYD Bangladesh has launched the ‘Build Your Dreams: NEV Mechanic Training’ program, aiming to accelerate the electric vehicle (EV) revolution in the country and enhance the skills of local mechanics. The first session of the initiative was held on 5 December at the BYD Service Center. A total of 25 enthusiastic mechanics from various workshops and institutions across the Dhaka division participated.
According to a press release issued on 10 December, this extensive training program will continue in four additional phases, with 25 trainees joining each session.
The release states that the program was launched in cooperation with local mechanic associations to select energetic and curious candidates interested in learning about EV technology. To ensure expert guidance throughout the training, the sessions are being conducted by Mozammel Haque, Head of After-Sales Service at BYD Bangladesh. The project will be expanded nationwide throughout next year.
Imtiaz Naosher, Chief Marketing Officer of BYD Bangladesh, said, “There is immense potential in Bangladesh’s EV market. But to unlock this potential, building strong local technical expertise and customer confidence is crucial. Through this groundbreaking training program, BYD is committed to transforming existing challenges into real opportunities by enhancing the skills of mechanics and contributing to a cleaner, greener future. This is just the first step; we will continue expanding the program nationwide throughout the year. Our goal is to develop a highly skilled mechanic community in the EV sector. We are proud to be the first brand to take such a strong and committed initiative.”
Reinforcing this commitment, Mozammel Haque, Head of After-Sales Service at BYD Bangladesh, added, “Our aim is to equip local technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently and competently provide EV services. This initiative is not just a training program — it is an effort to build a sustainable ecosystem that will help advance Bangladesh’s electric mobility journey.”
