RUET Opens Undergraduate Admission; BUET Added as New Exam Centre for the First Time
Applications for admission into the first-year undergraduate programs of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) for the 2025–26 academic session will begin online on 2 December at 10:00 am and continue until 13 December at 5:00 pm.
For the first time, BUET has been included as an additional examination centre alongside RUET. As a result, students residing in Dhaka and nearby areas will be able to sit for the written admission test at BUET. However, candidates applying to the Architecture Department under Group ‘B’ must take the exam exclusively at the RUET campus.
According to the schedule, RUET will publish the seating arrangement on 6 January 2026 at 5:00 pm. From 10 January at 5:00 pm onward, applicants will be able to download their admit cards online. The admission tests for both Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ are scheduled for 22 January. The MCQ test will be held from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, and for Group ‘B’ candidates, the freehand drawing and visual–spatial intelligence test will be held from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm. The admission results are expected to be published on 6 February.
As per the admission notice, students can apply for a total of 1,235 seats (including reserved seats) across 14 departments under the faculties of Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The admission test will follow an MCQ format and answers must be marked on OMR sheets. Candidates opting for both Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ will sit for exams totalling 400 marks, while Group ‘B’ applicants will take an additional 200-mark test on freehand drawing and visual–spatial skills.
The written test will include 120 marks each in Higher Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and 40 marks in English, with a total duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Among all applicants, a merit list will be prepared based on grade points in three core subjects, and the top 19,000 candidates will be allowed to sit for the admission test.
