Nvidia Nurtures New AI Nexus with OpenAI

Chipmaker Nvidia has announced a potential investment of up to $100 billion in leading artificial intelligence firm OpenAI. The two companies disclosed the development in a joint statement on Monday, according to Reuters.
Under the new partnership, Nvidia chips with at least 10 gigawatts of capacity will be deployed within OpenAI’s AI infrastructure. The initial phase of the installation is targeted for launch in the second half of 2026.
Nvidia and OpenAI stated, “The final agreement will be signed in the coming weeks.” They added that this collaboration is expected to serve as a new milestone amid growing global competition in the AI sector.
Meanwhile, just days earlier, Nvidia announced a $5 billion investment in the struggling chipmaker Intel. Analysts note that these consecutive initiatives will further strengthen Nvidia’s influence in the global AI industry.
