JUST Hosts Seminar on Studying Abroad and Celebrates Scholarship Achievers
In an effort to inspire students toward higher education, facilitate information exchange, and provide guidance on international academic opportunities, Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) organized a seminar titled “Opportunities and Preparations for Higher Education Abroad.” The event was attended by final-year undergraduates, postgraduates, and alumni who have received fully funded scholarships abroad.
The seminar, held on Sunday, August 3, took place at the gallery of the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Academic Building and featured “Road to Higher Study Abroad” as its central theme. The event was graced by JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor remarked, “The pursuit of higher education and the acquisition of advanced knowledge enrich our institution. I firmly believe that you will represent JUST on the global stage with distinction. By attaining higher education, you will help advance the nation and work for the betterment of this land and its people.”
During the seminar, several alumni who secured fully funded international scholarships shared their experiences and insights with the younger participants. The event served as a valuable knowledge-sharing platform for aspirants preparing for study abroad.
Following the seminar, at 4:30 PM, a Reception and Felicitation Ceremony 2025 was held at the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room in honor of the scholarship recipients. It marked the first time such a reception was organized at JUST for students heading abroad. The Vice-Chancellor extended his warm wishes and heartfelt congratulations to the honored alumni.
The ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dr. Md. Amzad Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Science and Technology Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology Professor Dr. Shirin Nigar, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Professor Dr. Md. Zafiral Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Science Dr. Md. Korban Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Dr. Mohammad Kamal Hossain, and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Professor Dr. Md. Ziaul Amin. Departmental chairpersons and faculty members were also present.
The event was conducted by Dr. Md. Rafiqul Hasan, Director of the Student Counselling and Guidance Office, which organized the program.
