RUET Hosts International Women’s Day 2026 Debate Competition
Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) hosted the International Women’s Day 2026 Debate Competition. A total of six students participated in the event, divided into two groups representing the government and opposition teams.
The government team emerged victorious in the competition. Md. Naim was selected as the best debater from the government team, while Homaira Tabassum earned the same honor from the opposition team.
The competition was organized on March 8, Sunday, in the university hall by the BRAC Social Compliance Program.
The panel of judges included Assistant Professor Z. H. M. Monjur Morshed from the Department of Architecture, Assistant Professor Abu Ismail Siddiqui from the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Assistant Professor Aishi Jyoti from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
At the prize-giving ceremony following the competition, Professor Dr. Md. Robiul Islam Sarker, Director of the RUET Student Welfare Office, attended as the chief guest. He stated, “International Women’s Day reminds us that men and women are entitled to equal dignity. Only when the rights, safety, and empowerment of women are ensured can we build a just and prosperous society. The country will progress. This parliament believes that establishing women’s rights also brings positive change for men.”
