Tech research institute Preneur Lab has officially launched a civic-tech platform named Reform Bangladesh, designed to empower youth to actively participate in policy discussions, propose reforms, and analyze perspectives through a digital-first approach.

According to a press release, the platform enables users to read and support policy suggestions and submit their own reform ideas. Each idea submitted will be reviewed and compiled into a draft manifesto to be shared with the Reform Commission and relevant institutions.

With a network of over 250 trained young individuals, Reform Bangladesh is aimed at encouraging the younger generation to engage in policy advocacy. The initiative comes in the wake of a transformative year in Bangladesh’s political landscape. Following a bloody uprising that occurred a year ago, a fascist regime was overthrown by a youth-led revolution, ushering in a new era under an interim government. The uprising cost over 1,400 young lives, with many others injured or missing. Reform Bangladesh, initiated by Preneur Lab Youth and Innovation Trust, is intended to honor those sacrifices with meaningful civic engagement.

Arif Nizami, trustee of Preneur Lab, stated, “Even without political affiliations, young people’s voices must reach decision-makers.” He added that the initiative is set to expand through the organization of policy hackathons and town hall meetings to bring youth perspectives directly to policymakers.

At the heart of this initiative lies a digital manifesto website—a civic-tech platform where youth can read policy proposals, express their support, and submit their own suggestions.
