CUET Teachers Demand Reinstatement of Former VC

Highlighting the need for digital academic automation, administrative continuity, and technological stability, the CUET Teachers' Association has demanded the immediate reinstatement of the recently ousted Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem. The association also urged the authorities to immediately revoke the notification regarding his removal.
The demand was formally issued today, Wednesday (23 September), through a press release signed by CUET Teachers' Association President Professor Dr. Mohammad Ahsan Ullah and General Secretary Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Hannan.
According to the press release, the Honorable President appointed Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem as the Vice-Chancellor of CUET on 27 July. Since taking charge, Dr. Sayem earned widespread acceptance among teachers, students, officers, and staff through his dynamic leadership. However, on 21 September, a notification was issued relieving him of his duties without citing any reason. His removal after just 56 days in office has caused profound disappointment across the university community.
The press release added that the Teachers' Association held an emergency general meeting on 21 September, where it unanimously resolved: "The notifications issued by the Honorable President regarding the appointment and removal of the CUET Vice-Chancellor should be revoked immediately, and Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem must be reinstated as Vice-Chancellor."
The association stressed that revoking the 21 September notification is crucial to maintaining CUET's academic momentum, administrative efficiency, and ongoing infrastructural development.
