Bangladesh Eyes Global AI and Green-Tech Investment Through Strategic UK-China Partnership Dialogue
A high-level discussion and networking dinner aimed at expanding international investment and strategic partnerships in frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital infrastructure, and renewable energy was held in Bangladesh. The event, organized by EATL Innovation Hub Limited—the country’s first private sector-based innovation hub—took place on the evening of June 5 at the ballroom of The Westin Dhaka and was announced on Saturday, June 6.
Hosted by EATL Innovation Hub Managing Director M. A. Mubin Khan, the special gathering honored a visiting delegation of British and Chinese business leaders and investors.
The primary objective of the event was to strengthen economic cooperation among Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, and China while exploring new opportunities for sustainable development through the adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.
The international delegation, led by Abdul Jabbar, Deputy Leader of Oldham Council and Chairman of the Greater Manchester Bangladesh Partnership Board, expressed strong interest in pursuing joint ventures in Bangladesh’s technology sector, green energy projects, IT infrastructure, and skilled workforce development initiatives.
The event was described as a continuation of high-level engagements initiated during a visit to the United Kingdom by EATL and the Vice-Chancellor of the National University in November 2025, when discussions were held at the House of Commons.
While speaking as the chief guest, Afroza Khanam Rita, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, said the government is working to transform Bangladesh into a regional hub for business and technology by accelerating digital transformation and improving the environment for foreign investment.
Former minister Abdul Moyeen Khan emphasized the importance of effective public-private partnerships with international investors to accelerate economic growth.
In his remarks, EATL Managing Director M. A. Mubin Khan noted that Bangladesh is rapidly progressing toward a technology-driven economy. He said greater international collaboration in artificial intelligence, big data, IoT, and digital infrastructure would further strengthen the country’s long-term and sustainable economic growth.
Operating advanced technology infrastructure at the Kaliakoir Hi-Tech Park, EATL Innovation Hub is currently working with renowned domestic and international universities on joint research initiatives and AI-based projects aimed at developing future-ready human resources for emerging industries.
The event was also attended by Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, secretaries from various ministries, and representatives of international investment organizations.
Stakeholders believe the strategic dialogue will serve as an important milestone in building stronger connections between global investors and Bangladesh’s growing IT and infrastructure sectors, while opening new avenues for investment in advanced technologies and innovation-driven development.
