Five relatives of UK-based expatriates have won motorcycle and electronic device coupons after receiving the highest amounts of remittances sent directly to their bKash accounts through Taptap Send from the United Kingdom. The prizes were handed over at a ceremony recently held at the bKash head office.
bKash disclosed the information in a press release on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
The top remittance recipient received a motorcycle coupon worth Tk 180,000. The next four winners received electronic device coupons worth Tk 50,000, Tk 30,000, Tk 25,000 and Tk 15,000, respectively.
The winners were selected based on the amount of remittances they received from UK-based relatives through Taptap Send directly into their bKash accounts between August 1 and 31, 2026.
According to the organisers, the campaign was designed to encourage expatriates to send remittances through safe, convenient and legal channels. The initiative also sought to promote the continued flow of remittances, which remains an important contributor to Bangladesh’s economy.
The direct remittance facility allows recipients to receive funds sent by expatriates through a digital mobile financial service account. Under the campaign, remittances sent from the UK through Taptap Send were received directly in the winners’ bKash accounts.
