International Security Tech Expo Opens

The International Security Expo and Occupational Safety, Health and Fire Expo-2026 has opened in Dhaka, bringing together local manufacturers, suppliers, importers, software and cybersecurity entrepreneurs with representatives of international technology companies to create new business and technology partnerships. The three-day event is showcasing solutions in cybersecurity, smart surveillance, fire safety, access control and integrated security systems.

The exhibitions were formally inaugurated on Thursday morning, September 17, at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka. The event will continue until Saturday, September 19.

The exhibitions are jointly organised by i-Station Limited, a technology products and services company, and the Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS), the trade organisation representing the information technology business community.

Speaking as chief guest, Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Md. Fazlur Rahman said such international events could contribute to strengthening the country’s national security systems. He described the exhibition as more than a technology showcase, saying it could also serve as a platform for raising security awareness, building networks and expanding public-private partnerships.

He said the government was committed to developing closer partnerships with foreign security industries in electronic and cybersecurity. He also invited international security and safety technology companies to invest in Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park.

BCS Secretary General Muhammad Monirul Islam delivered the welcome address. He said the country’s rapid digitalisation and industrialisation required stronger preparedness for security, workplace safety and emergency response.

According to him, security is no longer limited to protecting buildings or physical assets. It also includes protecting people, information, digital systems, businesses and critical infrastructure. He said the exhibition would facilitate technology and knowledge exchange while creating new business connections between local and international security and safety companies.

Md. Madhu Sudon Saha, Managing Director of i-Station Limited, said the exhibition was showcasing advanced technologies and products for security and safety management. As the use of smart and connected technologies expands across organisations and infrastructure, he said the event would help businesses explore modern security technologies and strengthen their own security systems.

The parallel Occupational Safety, Health and Fire Expo-2026 is showcasing modern solutions for industrial and workplace safety.

BCS Vice President Md. Wahidul Hasan Dipu chaired the opening programme. He said the importance of security and workplace safety was increasing alongside digitalisation, industrialisation and urbanisation. He identified significant potential in smart surveillance, cybersecurity, fire safety, access control and integrated security systems.

He also identified shortages of skilled professionals, lack of awareness, uneven application of international standards and technology costs as major challenges. BCS, he said, would work to facilitate knowledge exchange, technology adoption and new partnerships among the government, businesses and international partners.

Oshi Foundation Chairperson Saki Rezwana and Fire Service and Civil Defence Deputy Director (Dhaka) Md. Saleh Uddin also addressed the programme. BCS Joint Secretary General Md. Ahsanul Islam Nawshed, Treasurer Abul Hasan, Director Md. Iqbal Hossain, BCS members, leaders of different ICT organisations and technology businesses from several countries were also present.

The guests later visited the exhibition stalls following the inauguration.

Organisers said the two exhibitions would provide opportunities for manufacturers, technology suppliers, distributors, industrial representatives, safety professionals, businesses, decision-makers and policymakers to establish direct contacts and explore business relationships with leading local and international brands.

Two seminars will also be held during the three-day event, focusing on security, workplace safety, technology adoption and the future of industry. The sessions are expected to facilitate knowledge and experience sharing among security technology experts and industry stakeholders, along with business networking and potential collaboration.

According to the organisers, technology companies from different countries are displaying their latest security and safety solutions. These include workplace fire-safety technologies, safety equipment, smart monitoring systems, health and fire-safety technologies, smart software solutions, cybersecurity and security innovations, personal protective equipment (PPE), security cameras and other safety and health-related equipment.

Around 150 leading security brands from 10 countries and more than 500 security and safety professionals are participating in the three-day event.

Visitors can experience the latest technologies and innovations while learning about changing trends in the security and safety sector. The exhibition also offers practical insights into how organisations can use modern technologies to create safer and more secure workplaces and living environments.
