The Ministry of Land has directed the immediate installation of biometric digital attendance devices across all Upazila (sub-district) and Union Land Offices to enhance transparency, accountability, and punctuality in field-level services. Official letters have been issued to all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to ensure prompt implementation and monitoring.
Issued on September 14 by the Field Administration-2 branch of the ministry, the directive highlights the government's drive toward e-governance and operational efficiency. The letter stresses that ensuring the timely presence of staff is critical to delivering seamless and prompt land services to the public.
Under the new order, DCs are responsible for overseeing the setup of biometric hardware in their respective jurisdictions. Furthermore, they are tasked with establishing monitoring mechanisms to ensure officers and employees regularly check in using the biometric system.
