Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Mohammad Almozzadeddi Alfechani has urged young people to develop strong skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technologies while using knowledge, wisdom and ethics to become responsible citizens. He said the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will be followed by new challenges from the Fifth Industrial Revolution, making technology skills increasingly important for the younger generation.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at the award-giving ceremony of the “Second Bangladesh Science Expo 2026” at the Teacher-Student Centre auditorium of Dhaka University on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. He later distributed awards among the winners in different categories.
The event was jointly organised by Dhaka University Science Society, BestCAD Corp and Wadud Moymuna Foundation.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Almozzadeddi Alfechani said the world is changing rapidly. Alongside the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the Fifth Industrial Revolution is bringing new challenges. Young people must therefore develop skills in artificial intelligence and other modern technologies to address these challenges.
He also stressed that technological skills alone are not enough. Students should use education, wisdom and knowledge to become good human beings and responsible citizens. In a technology-driven future, he said, ethical values and social responsibility will remain equally important.
Highlighting government initiatives in higher education, the Pro-Vice Chancellor said loan facilities are being introduced for higher education and allocations for the research sector are also being increased. These initiatives, he said, will create greater opportunities for students and young people to pursue higher education and research.
Calling the younger generation the future strength of Bangladesh, Professor Alfechani urged students to build themselves as skilled human resources through knowledge, skills and ethics.
More than 2,000 students from different parts of Bangladesh participated in the “Second Bangladesh Science Expo 2026”, held on July 31 and August 1. A total of 200 students received awards in different categories at the event.
