A head teacher of a government primary school in Fenchuganj, Sylhet, has filed a General Diary (GD) alleging cyberbullying, online harassment and defamatory content following the viral circulation of a social media video. Police have initiated a digital forensic investigation to identify the Facebook accounts named in the complaint.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Lutfur Rahman of Fenchuganj Police Station confirmed the matter on 27 July, Monday.

According to police, a short reel featuring head teacher Beauty Rani Pal, recorded on a school campus, recently spread across social media platforms, triggering widespread discussion and criticism. She later alleged that several Facebook accounts had published defamatory content that harmed her reputation.

The OC said the complaint is being investigated seriously and that the Facebook accounts identified in the GD have been sent for digital forensic examination. Accounts operating under the names "Fenchuganj Protidin" and "Ibrahim Khalil" are also under investigation.

Meanwhile, the Sylhet District Primary Education Office is reviewing whether the incident involved any violation of government service conduct rules or social media usage guidelines. District Primary Education Officer Sakhawat Ershad said the initial review has not found evidence of any breach of official conduct rules, though the administrative inquiry remains ongoing.
