CUET Pushes Startup Innovation Through Incubation
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology has emphasised innovation-led growth through startup development and incubation support. Selected student teams from the startup pitch competition will receive six months of incubation facilities.
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has highlighted research, innovation and entrepreneurship as key drivers of technology-led economic growth amid the rapid transformation shaped by Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.
Speaking at the opening of the ITBI Student Startup Pitch Fest 2026 held on 19 June 2026, Friday under the theme “From Idea to Incubation,” Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiya said emerging technologies are reshaping industries, education and employment worldwide.
He identified artificial intelligence, machine learning, Internet of Things, big data analytics, blockchain, cloud computing and automation among the technologies accelerating structural changes across sectors.
The university reiterated its commitment to building an ecosystem where research outcomes and technology innovation can contribute directly to society and the economy.
According to organisers, more than 150 students and innovators from universities across the country participated in the event and presented startup ideas before industry representatives and expert judges.
Team Borno secured first place, followed by Team Livora and Sync Robotics. A total of 13 teams, including the winners, will receive six months of incubation support, workspace access, mentorship and connections to the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The event also featured startup pitch sessions, expert engagement and incubation-focused activities designed to support early-stage ventures.
