ChatGPT Introduces Task Scheduling Hub

OpenAI has introduced a new scheduling feature for its AI chatbot ChatGPT, allowing users to assign tasks that can be executed automatically at a specified future time. To help manage these automated activities, the company has also launched a dedicated hub within the ChatGPT interface.

In an announcement on Wednesday, OpenAI said a new “Scheduled” shortcut will now appear in ChatGPT’s sidebar. Through this page, users can view all active scheduled tasks, check when they are set to run, and manage them easily. The feature also allows users to pause, edit, or permanently delete any scheduled request.

The update enables users to instruct ChatGPT to perform tasks at a precise time, such as 10:00 a.m., or during a broader period, such as morning or afternoon. In a demonstration video shared by OpenAI, ChatGPT was shown automatically searching for information online and monitoring connected applications on behalf of users when triggered by scheduled instructions.

The new functionality is currently available to subscribers of ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Pro, ChatGPT Business, and ChatGPT Enterprise plans. OpenAI has not yet announced when the feature will become available to free-tier users.

At the same time, the company confirmed that it is retiring Pulse, the daily news summary feature introduced last year. Pro subscribers will continue to have access to Pulse for the next 14 days. After that period, users will need to rely on the new scheduling hub to create and manage their own personalized daily summaries.

The latest update reflects OpenAI’s broader effort to transform ChatGPT from a conversational assistant into a more proactive digital productivity tool capable of performing tasks automatically on behalf of users.
