Digital Media Forum Marks Third Anniversary, Announces Excellence Award 2026

The Digital Media Forum (DMF) has celebrated its third founding anniversary and entered its fourth year, reaffirming its commitment to advancing digital journalism, professional development, and technology-driven media practices in Bangladesh.

A discussion meeting and anniversary program were held at the organization’s temporary office, attended by members, advisers, journalists from national and online media outlets, corporate representatives, and delegates from various social and professional organizations.

Speaking at the event, DMF President Md. Delwar Hossain said coordinated efforts are essential for strengthening digital media, improving professional standards, and promoting technology-based journalism.

He noted that the organization will continue working to support the growth of digital platforms and contribute to the development of an information technology-driven media ecosystem.

According to Delwar Hossain, DMF plans to collaborate with local and international organizations to promote innovation, skill development, and technological capacity building in the media sector. He also emphasized the organization's commitment to combating misinformation, disinformation, and rumors.

Highlighting future initiatives, he announced that DMF aims to train and develop 500 skilled media professionals within the next year as part of its effort to build a competent workforce for the digital transformation era.

During the event, the organization also announced that the DMF Excellence Award 2026 will be held on July 25, 2026. Details regarding the application process and jury board will be disclosed soon.

DMF Adviser and Moin Uddin Bokul, said the organization has been working over the past three years to unite digital media professionals and support their career development.

He added that DMF intends to expand its activities beyond Dhaka and play a greater role in enhancing the skills of journalists working at district and grassroots levels.

Another adviser, Nurul Islam, said developing skilled human resources has become one of the biggest challenges in the age of information technology and artificial intelligence.

He noted that DMF is taking practical steps to address that challenge through training programs, workshops, and seminars focused on multimedia journalism, digital content creation, and modern news production techniques.

Nurul Islam also said the organization will work with other journalist associations to contribute to the broader development of the media industry.

Founded on June 17, 2023, by a group of young and enthusiastic digital media professionals, DMF has been working to promote journalists’ welfare, employment opportunities, professional skills development, and the overall advancement of Bangladesh’s digital media sector.
