The second edition of the Axentec Presents FICCI Football Tournament 2026 concluded in a festive atmosphere marked by thrilling matches, fierce competition, and vibrant celebrations. In the final held in the capital on Friday, 14 May, Robi Axiata PLC secured the championship title through a tie-breaker victory.

Organised by Nutmeg under the banner of the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the tournament featured participation from 20 leading multinational and corporate companies in Bangladesh. With a total of 50 competitive matches, this year’s edition further strengthened its position as one of the country’s major corporate football platforms.

The day began with the Plate Final between Chevron Bangladesh and Standard Chartered Bank. The match ended 1-1 in regular time, with Turya scoring for Standard Chartered and Ashik netting for Chevron. Standard Chartered Bank eventually secured the Plate title through a sudden-death tie-breaker. Turya was named Player of the Match.

The much-anticipated Cup Final then saw Robi Axiata PLC face DHL Express Bangladesh. Both teams displayed strong defensive performances in an intense contest that ended goalless in regulation time. Robi Axiata ultimately sealed the championship with an outstanding performance in the tie-breaker. Robi’s Shakib was named Player of the Match for his crucial contribution in the final.

Several players stood out throughout the tournament with exceptional performances. Shahinur of DHL scored 10 goals to win the Highest Goal Scorer award, while his teammate Soikat was named Player of the Tournament for his consistent brilliance. Meanwhile, Robi goalkeeper Musabbir earned recognition as the Best Goalkeeper.

LafargeHolcim Bangladesh received the Fair Play Trophy for demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and disciplined performances throughout the tournament.

At the prize-giving ceremony following the final, trophies and awards were presented to the champions, runners-up, and winners across different categories. Among those present at the event were M H M Fairoz, TIM Nurul Kabir, Shahed Alam, Jubayed Ul Islam, Sabbir Ferdous, Mazharul Kabir, and Mahbub Alam.

The organisers said the tournament had created a lively sporting atmosphere within the corporate community over the past several weeks. They noted that, beyond strengthening mutual understanding, teamwork, and professional relationships through football, the event also played an important role in promoting football culture within Bangladesh’s corporate sector.

The tournament’s title sponsor was Axentec. Co-sponsor was Singer Bangladesh Limited-Beko. Beverage partner was Sprite Mint, PR partner was Backpage PR, and airline partner was NOVOAIR.
