Vibe 2 5G Vision: HMD Sets Launch Date for Battery-Backed Budget Contender
Ending prolonged speculation, HMD Global has finally announced the launch date of its new smartphone, the HMD Vibe 2 5G. The device will be officially unveiled in India on 21 May. It is set to arrive as the successor to the HMD Vibe, which was launched in September last year.
The key highlight of the phone is its powerful 6,000 mAh battery. In addition to ensuring long-lasting backup, it will support 18W fast charging. For photography, the device will feature a 50-megapixel primary rear camera.
iPhone-Inspired Design
The new handset features an eye-catching design. Its rear panel closely resembles that of the iPhone 17 Pro series. A rectangular camera island on the back houses two sensors and an LED flash. The phone will be available in three attractive colors—Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue, and Peach Pink.
HMD has confirmed that following its launch on 21 May, the phone will be available on India’s e-commerce platform Flipkart as well as in various offline retail stores. Positioned as a budget-friendly 5G smartphone, it is expected to create strong competition in the market.
