Bangladesh Startup PriyoShop Clinches South Asia ICT Award 2025
Bangladesh’s tech-enabled supply chain and fintech platform PriyoShop has emerged as the champion at the South Asia ICT Award 2025, dethroning India for the first time in the history of the regional competition.
Organised by the Nepal ICT Foundation, the prestigious award had been won by Indian startups for the last nine consecutive years. This year, however, the crown went to the Bangladesh-based technology startup, marking a milestone achievement for the country’s growing tech ecosystem.
The award was formally handed over to PriyoShop Founder and CEO Ashikul Alam Khan at a conference held in Kathmandu on December 19. The honour was presented by Nepal’s Minister for Industry and Commerce Anil Kumar Singh, in the presence of PriyoShop Co-founder and CMO Dipti Mondal. Distinguished guests at the ceremony included Nepal’s Chief Secretary Shamunraj Aryal, NPC Vice-Chairman Dr Prakash Kumar Shrestha, and other senior government officials.
Upon receiving the award, Ashikul Alam Khan said the recognition truly belongs to the small retail entrepreneurs PriyoShop serves. “They are the real champions. We only build the tools to help them succeed,” he said.
Co-founder and CMO Dipti Mondal noted that PriyoShop represented Bangladesh across several global platforms throughout 2025 and aims to continue flying the national flag worldwide in 2026. “This championship proves that when we solve real problems for real people, the impact speaks for itself,” she added.
The South Asia ICT Awards 2025, held in Nepal, was a major gathering of the region’s technology ecosystem. Out of more than 1,200 applications, 750 nominations were accepted. Following evaluation by an 18-member expert jury panel, the top 10 semifinalists were selected, with six finalists competing for the championship. Innovative technologies from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan were showcased at the event, from which PriyoShop was ultimately crowned champion.
