Listed mobile operator Robi Axiata has begun distributing environment-friendly “Super Bikes” to its field-level employees across the country.

Robi says field officers operating at the thana and union levels will now be able to deliver services to customers more quickly, efficiently and in a more eco-friendly manner using these electric bikes.

In a statement issued on Monday, 8 December, Robi said the initiative is part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company believes the rollout will also help create new employment opportunities for field workers while expanding digital awareness in rural regions.

Shihab Ahmad, Chief Commercial Officer of Robi Axiata PLC, said:
“Robi Super Bike marks an important step in our journey towards sustainable mobility and strengthening service delivery in rural Bangladesh. These eco-friendly e-bikes allow us to reduce carbon emissions while ensuring faster, more reliable and effective service to customers in remote areas. Innovation, environmental responsibility, and bringing every community under the umbrella of digital services remain at the core of Robi’s mission—this initiative is a reflection of that commitment.”

The Robi Super Bike includes a range of features designed to support field workers in their daily activities. These include a convertible cargo box, Robi-branded umbrella, foldable tools, mobile and lamp charging options with USB ports, and an audio hand mic for community awareness initiatives. For enhanced safety and monitoring, the bikes are equipped with face-recognition unlock systems, geo-fencing and real-time movement tracking.
