JUST Hosts Training Workshop on Public Procurement Rules 2025

Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has organized a training workshop on Public Procurement Rules 2025 (PPR-2025) for university teachers and officials of ninth grade and above. The event was held under the initiative of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

The workshop took place on Saturday, 29 November, at the Professor Mohammad Sharif Hossain Gallery of the Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building. JUST Treasurer Professor Dr. Hossain Al Mamun attended the event as the chief guest.

In his remarks, Professor Dr. Mamun highlighted several existing issues and inconsistencies in the presentation of financial and administrative files at the university. He urged all officials to submit necessary documents properly when presenting files for financial and administrative approvals. Emphasizing effective record management, he provided guidance on preserving and presenting official documents. He expressed hope that such timely and important training workshops would help shape skilled and responsible citizens.

The keynote speech was delivered by Shah Yamin Ul Islam, Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) under the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) of the Planning Ministry. He presented the major changes and features of the Public Procurement (Amendment) Ordinance 2025, which came into effect on 28 September 2025, aimed at ensuring good governance, transparency, efficiency, and competition in public procurement in Bangladesh. He elaborated on the ordinance for the participants and addressed their questions.

The workshop was presided over by IQAC Director Professor Dr. A.M. Swaraj. Deans of various faculties, department chairs, office heads, and nominated representatives from different departments and offices attended the event. The session was conducted by Dr. K.M. Anisul Haque, Additional Director of IQAC.
