Bangladesh will host the second edition of the Bangladesh Semiconductor Symposium and BEAR Summit 2026 on July 25-26 at Bangabandhu Novotheatre, focusing on semiconductor manufacturing, talent development, research, investment, and international collaboration. Prime minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to inaugurate the two-day event.

The announcement was made on Thursday (July 23) at a press conference held at Gulshan Club in Dhaka by Science and Technology Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain.

Jointly organised by the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) and the Ministry of Science and Technology, the symposium will highlight Bangladesh's semiconductor ecosystem, global market opportunities, research and innovation, workforce development, investment prospects, and international partnerships.

According to the organisers, following the inaugural session, local and international experts, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders will discuss strategies for integrating Bangladesh into the global semiconductor value chain.

The press conference was attended by BSIA President and DBL Group Managing Director M. A. Jabbar, BSIA Vice President and Mars Solutions Managing Director M. E. Chowdhury Shamim, and symposium Convener Professor Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Hussain of Purdue University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He emphasised the importance of developing skilled talent, strengthening research, and expanding global collaboration to accelerate Bangladesh's semiconductor industry.

BSIA said the symposium will also present the current landscape of Bangladesh's semiconductor sector, showcase participating companies, and outline a roadmap for enhancing the country's role in the global semiconductor supply chain.
