New Web Film “First Love” Premieres on November 27
A new web film titled “First Love” is set to release on November 27. The 90-minute film, written and directed by Hasib Hossain Rakhi, blends romance with the warmth of family, friendship, and nostalgic memories of student life. Popular actor Tawsif Mahbub plays the lead role.
Although she came into the spotlight earlier this year after getting married, 24-year-old Shammi Islam Nila had not acted before. Her introduction as the heroine of “First Love” was officially revealed on Sunday, November 23, at a press conference held in Banani, Dhaka. Nila is a fashion influencer, model, and the crowned winner of Miss World Bangladesh 2023.
Speaking about her debut acting experience, Nila said, “Today is very special for me. When I heard the story of ‘First Love’, I felt deeply connected to it. Viewers will relate to this story at some point in their lives. I wanted to work on something that would stay in people’s hearts.”
Actor Tawsif Mahbub commented, “First Love is my second project with Hasib Hossain Rakhi and my fourth with Capital Drama. This is our heroine’s first work, which is why the story has been titled ‘First Love.’ We hope the audience will enjoy it.”
Director Hasib Hossain Rakhi said, “The story is entirely my own creation. First Love marks a new journey for me. I hope the audience will join us on this special journey through the film.”
Anwarul Alam Sajal, producer and head of Capital Drama, announced that the web film will be released on Capital Drama on November 27. He expressed hope that viewers would also experience a touch of cinematic feel in it.
Despite gaining media attention earlier this year for her marriage, Nila had not stepped into acting until now. Reflecting on her debut, she added, “Today is a special day for me. When the story of First Love came to me, I felt an instant connection. Viewers, too, will be able to feel it at some moment in their lives. I wanted to be part of a project that would leave a lasting impression. Audiences want to see quality work, and they will get to enjoy a beautiful production. I’m very hopeful about this project.”
