Bangladesh Builds Brilliance: International Exhibitions Kick Off at ICCB
Three major international exhibitions focusing on construction, housing, water, power, and related industries have commenced at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka. Organized by Conference and Exhibition Management Services (CEMS-Global USA), this marks the 30th Build Series of Exhibitions, the 27th Power Series of Exhibitions, and the 7th Water Bangladesh International Exhibition 2025. The exhibitions will remain open daily from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM until 15 November.
The inauguration took place on Thursday, 13 November, with a welcome speech and chairmanship by Meherun N. Islam, President and Group Managing Director of CEMS-Global USA & Asia Pacific. Special guests included Dr. Mohammad Giasuddin Haider, Director General of the Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI); M.A. Kamal Billah, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Industries; Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director (Finance), Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA); and Tanvir Masud, Project Lead, Skills for SE Project, GIZ Bangladesh.
The Build Series of Exhibitions features, for the first time in Bangladesh, the award-winning architectural showcase ‘Architecture of Resilience.’ The exhibition highlights construction materials, modern technologies, machinery, interior design, and contemporary housing solutions. The power and renewable energy exhibition showcases power generation and transmission technologies, solar and renewable energy solutions, and energy-efficient lighting systems. The events also integrate the 22nd Solar Bangladesh 2025 and the 7th Dhaka International Lighting Expo 2025. The 7th Water Bangladesh International Expo 2025 focuses on water and wastewater management, purification, desalination, and smart water management technologies.
Over 200 exhibiting companies from more than 20 countries, including China, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, the UAE, and the UK, are participating. With more than 500 booths and international pavilions, the exhibitions are expected to attract over 35,000 business professionals and visitors. Leading local brands such as Walton, ACI, Rahim Afroz, Omera, and SSG are showcasing their latest products and services.
According to the organizers, Bangladesh’s construction sector currently contributes over 8% to the country’s GDP. With a population exceeding 170 million and rapid urbanization, the demand for housing and infrastructure continues to grow. The Build Series of Exhibitions serves as a key platform for technology exchange and partnerships in these sectors, further accelerating Bangladesh’s progress toward sustainable energy systems.
Alongside the exhibitions, five international seminars are being held to discuss global trends and innovations in construction, housing, energy, and water. On the first day, 13 November, a seminar titled ‘Symbiotic Grounds: Reframing Architecture Through Context, Craft, and Circularity’ was co-organized by Arcicnect from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. On 14 November, seminars include ‘The Future of Power Generation in Bangladesh’ with Grand Power Limited from 2:30 to 3:30 PM and ‘Deltacraft – The Poetry of Tangible Form and Intangible Soul’ with Arcicnect from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. On the final day, 15 November, seminars ‘Future Proofing Bangladesh Through Green and Resilient Buildings’ from 3:00 to 4:00 PM and ‘Drishtikon – Srishtikon’ from 4:00 to 5:00 PM will be held.
The 22nd Solar Bangladesh International Expo 2025, with German development agency GIZ Bangladesh as knowledge partner, will host a full-day conference on ‘Innovations & Partnerships for Sustainable Energy Transition’ at ICCB Hall 5.
